Testing
We source the best equipment for the job, and generally supply a mixture of COTS and bespoke equipment. We undertake rigorous EMC & Environmental Tests, and proving and validation procedures to specifications agreed with the customer, including; Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Harbour Acceptance Tests (HAT), and Sea Acceptance Tests (SAT).
Sea Trials, Analysis & Documentation
Our experienced Trials teams regularly organise and support trials and exercises both at sea and in enclosed water environments. They are experts in trials planning and can arrange consort vessels, transportation, installation and setting to work prior to deployment, and operate, handle and deploy equipment from ships, submarines and tethered platforms safely and efficiently.
The team includes qualified analysts on the platform providing ‘quick look’ analysis as the trial progresses, ensuring defects and potential problems are identified and rectified as soon as possible.
Where possible results are validated using two or more separate measurement/analysis systems, with detailed data reduction and statistical analysis subsequently performed on site and results delivered in concise reports using a range of software packages.
Installation & Integration
Many systems are COTS based and often require a bespoke solution for integration. Our engineers have the technical ‘know how’ to design and integrate complex hardware and software systems and the practical skills to test it, install it and keep it running smoothly.
Post Design Service
All our work is backed by detailed documentation, drawings and handbooks. We're also often called upon to design and integrate new updates to extend the life of equipment or perhaps incorporate modifications due to obsolescence.

Drumgrange offers Contractor Logistics and comprehensive Integrated Logistics Support - providing a convenient, cost effective method of managing all the logistical elements needed for successful operational performance and maintenance of systems and equipment – all within one company.
CALIBRATION FACILITIES:
Mobile Calibration Facility
Drumgrange has a containerised, transportable calibration unit, usually sited on the consort vessel, which provides both static and towed sound sources and acoustic measurement systems. Acoustic signals from Hz up to hundreds of kHz can be catered for. Other discrete calibration systems for harbour and enclosed water calibration are also available.
Static Calibration Facility
An essential part of performance trials is knowing the sensitivity of the receiver to a high degree of accuracy. Our Portland site houses an 18,000 gallon UKAS accredited anechoic test tank for sonar transducer calibration, one of only two UK sites certified to carry out the calibration of underwater hydrophones, and a semi-automatic, computer-controlled transducer test and calibration facility for both hydrophones and acoustic projectors.
