PRESS RELEASE 8th February 2008 Contract award for submarine sonar system. Drumgrange Ltd with offices in Chertsey, Surrey and Portland, Dorset has finished its financial year on a high note with the award of a significant contract from the Ministry of Defence. The project is a Mission Enabling Sonar Processor that will encompass a number of sonar processors to improve the ease of operation, reduce maintenance costs and extend the useful life of current systems. The contract was successfully bid and won through a competition run by the MOD’s DE&S. The programme will address many areas of requirement and a number of innovative ideas and concepts are proposed. Commenting on the award of this important contract win, George Howe Managing Director of Drumgrange said: “We are clearly delighted with this award and look forward to building on the very strong working relationship we have with the MOD. This contract will allow us to draw upon our many years of experience in the sonar domain and this has obviously been recognised by the award of this contract.” 7th February 2008 Sonar 2054 Inboard Replacement (IR) Lockheed Martin successfully completed the hardware fit of S2054 (IR) in the first platform on schedule with the MoD acceptance authority, MCTA, stating that the installation was very impressive. The installation was conducted by two of Lockheed Martin's team mates, Drumgrange and Aish, whose industry and professionalism enabled this significant milestone. |
